Certificates of Completion are awarded for the successful completion of an access or bridging program, which are defined as a designated program of study designed to “bridge” students into an academic degree program.
Students seeking direct entry to the College-University Accounting Bridge Program, Certificate of Completion should apply using York’s online application. For more information check the Admissions Requirements website.
To be eligible for the College-University Accounting Bridge Program, Certificate of Completion, students must have successfully completed a 2-year business-accounting college diploma program with a GPA of B and a minimum grade of B or better in the following courses:
- financial accounting (3 courses)
- managerial accounting
- business information systems
- 2 communications courses
Once admitted to the certificate program students must also achieve a minimum grade of B in the ADMB courses below to be eligible for the Honours Bachelor of Administrative Studies (BAS), Accounting Stream and to receive the enhanced transfer credit.
Certificate core requirements: 15 credits including:
- ADMB 2510 3.00
- ADMB 2511 3.00
- ADMB 3330 3.00
- ADMB 3530 3.00
- ADMB 3585 3.00
Upon completion of the certificate program requirements at the required level above, students will be granted a total of 60 credits towards the BAS Specialized Honours Accounting program. Certificates will be awarded upon successful completion of the program.
Please note: Certificates of Completion are distinct from both an undergraduate certificate and a non-degree studies certificate. A Certificate of Completion recognizes a student’s accomplishment in a specified grouping of courses designed to lead to the acquisition of academic skills and knowledge necessary to perform successfully in an academic degree program, where that recognition may be desirable for external audiences.
